STORE DESIGN

One of the first projects we ever worked on was a themed store interior for Liverpool-based fashion/sports retailer Dirty Sports. Later stores became more elaborate - one in the St.John's Centre had a spaceship hanging from the ceiling.

I have worked with Brian on everything from small bespoke marketing requirements to over a dozen fully themed shop-fits. He always provides a first class service and goes that extra mile to ensure that the finished product fits the bill.

Director, Alive & Dirty Ltd

We’ve been working with ‘Dirty Sports’, a chain of independent athleisure stores on Merseyside, for 30 years. After creating themed stores in Liverpool city centre, Bootle, Runcorn and Huyton, the most recent is their flagship store in the city’s prestigious Liverpool 1 shopping district.

The kidswear section has the feel of a beat-up spaceship from ‘Star Wars’ or ‘Alien’ complete with interactive changing rooms and a talking, animated 3D robot. The build was by Landmark Joinery in Speke, with all detailing and themed paint effects undertaken by brianjohnson.design.

The adult clothing side of the store has a cleaner, sleeker ‘Tron-style’ sci-fi environment with custom-made, futuristic, shaped seating and shelving.

CAFE BRAVO

An independent cafe and wine bar on Lord Street, Southport's Victorian canopied boulevard. We created a stylish corporate image and a fresh, colourful, individual environment full of bespoke artwork, whilst still retaining the classic cosy cafe look.

One of the most popular wall art elements was the cafe name made up of letters and shapes of landmarks and details around the town (below), all photographed specially for the graphic. Customers would sip their hot drinks whilst trying to guess where the shots were taken...
